Arion Afternoon Concert series was started in 1985 as a forerunner of weekday afternoon concert programs. This program is specifically tailored to music lovers for whom it is inconvenient to be out at night and for the convenience of those coming to enjoy the concerts from far away.
A program thoroughly selected by the artistic director Kyoko Edo,
Each year Kyoko Edo selects about six concerts that are held in Kioi Hall or Tsuda Hall during the early afternoon. The program varies from recitals over chamber music, baroque or contemporary concerts, instrumental to vocal music, all on a very high artistic level.
Afternoon Concert membership-system
The Arion-Edo Foundation proposes an Afternoon Concert membership-system, which enables the auditors to reduce the ticket price.
Full-series membership
Full-series subscribers enjoy the lowest ticket price per concert, which is only 3,000 Yen. A companion can purchase a ticket with a 10% discount (3,420 Yen instead of 3,800 Yen). Members will receive a preferential treatment for other events held by the Arion-Edo Foundation.
Half-series membership
Half-series subscribers enjoy a ticket price at 3,333 Yen per concert. A companion can purchase a ticket with a 10% discount (3,420 Yen instead of 3,800 Yen). Members will receive a preferential treatment for other events held by the Arion-Edo Foundation.
If the concert series has already started¡Ä
You missed to enroll to the membership system? After the second concert you can still become a member and subscribe at a price of only 3,600 Yen per performance.
If you cannot make it to the concert¡Ä
Even though each ticket is designated to your name, you might exceptionally not be able to come to the concert. In this case, please transmit it to your friends or family. However, if the person does not show the membership card at the concert, we can not refund the ticket afterwards. Thank you for your understanding.
Students
Students (until age of 25) can purchase tickets for only 2,000 Yen. Please make a reservation until the day before the concert, and show your student ID card at the concert hall's reception desk.
¡öTickets bought the day of the concert and student ticket holders are kindly asked to wait at the entrance, as it might come to a scramble just before the concert
