
Projects of the Arion-Edo Foundation

The Arion-Edo Foundation has already cooperated with cultural halls throughout Japan, among them the Mito Arts Centre, Setagaya Museum of Fine Arts, Kamakura Arts Centre, Kochi City Culture Plaza and Takeo Culture Centre. The Foundation manages all-year-long business, commemoration events or annual concert plans.

Inauguration & Anniversary Projects

- Biwako Performing Arts Festival
In July 1999, three concerts of the Biwako Performing Arts Festival have been organized by the Arion-Edo Foundation, including the opening concert.

- Amber Hall, Kuji (Iwate Prefecture)
The organization of the Amber Hall Opening concert, the hall's first anniversary event, the Yomiuri Japanese Symphony Opening concert (February 1999), the Lithuanian Festival (Kuji City), 10th anniversary of twin city cooperation, the first anniversary of the opening with Seiji Ozawa and Mito Chamber Orchestra have been executed by the foundation.

- 100 years of Nissay Dowa General Insurance Co., Ltd.
The 100th anniversary concert of "Nissay Dowa General Insurance Co., Ltd." at the Phoenix Hall in Osaka has been managed by Arion-Edo.

- Zoo of instruments
Just like in a zoological garden, where children observe and touch the animals, the zoo of instruments offers children to do the same, but with musical instruments. The aim is to bring over the charm and attractiveness of the instruments and to make children familiar with them.

- Wind instrument workshop
Requested by the city of Kuji (Iwate prefecture), the Arion-Edo Foundation organized a wind instrument workshop for children. Its purpose is the easy handling of wind instruments. It is open to beginners or advanced young musicians.

- In memory of Paddington and the donkey
Like a musical story for children, the famous actress Kyoko Kishida narrated Paddington's story for children and was accompanied on the piano by Hiroshi Arimori and the painter Yumi Domoto, who assured the visual design. One day in the life of the small bear, "Paddington's first concert" has been performed on stage with a lot of humor, much appreciated by children and adults.
