Phenomenal guitarist D'Gary, born of the "Isle of Music", Madagascar. Along with the village musicians of the Bara tribe, he performs the tribe's ritualistic music in the first performance outside of the tribal environment!
D'Gary is a quintessential, world-renown guitarist from Madagascar. He can change guitar tunings in dozens of ways according to the piece. His performance by unique and astonishing technique, though unimaginably curious at first, leaves quite a lasting impression on the listener. D'Gary expresses, through rich imagery of sounds and words, the joys and sorrows of people's every day lives on his island. His music, inspired by rich traditions of music of the Bara and other Southern tribes, is interconnected with the spirit of the traditional ceremonies as part of the lives of the people. D'Gary, called "the guitarist from Hell" by Henry Kaiser and David Lindley, and highly praised in Europe. For this performance, Bara village musicians who have heretofore only played at their village ceremonies will join him for an incredible live experience of their rituals.
