2008 edition: Important points for the application
1. Introduction
The Tokyo Summer Festival is an annual summer festival organized by the Arion-Edo Foundation taking place for 4 weeks during the month of July. In order to present a large artistic variety, the festival includes Participatory and Related Performances. Individuals and organizations may apply to participate by presenting their artistic projects.
2. Subject of the recruitment

Type of performance:
Concert, dance, theatre play, performance, reading, movie screening, exhibition, lecture, etc.

Performance content:
No special exigencies for the content but to match with the theme "Sounds of the Forest, Voices of the Desert" (working title).

Date:
Between July 1 and 31, 2008.
(However, if long-running exhibitions overlap with the music festival period they might be taken into consideration as well.)

Venue:
The performance has to take place in Tokyo, e.g. in concert halls, open-air stages, parks and so on.

Also:
Only applications for already accomplished performances are accepted. (Projects in preparation are declined)

3. Special benefits
- As Participatory Performance: financial support between 100,000Yen and 500,000Yen. Furthermore promotion via the flyer, festival's magazine and homepage.
- As Related Performance: Promotion via the flyer, festival's magazine and homepage.

Please regard the application form on the Arion-Edo Foundation's homepage. Applications only via the website are accepted. Please also send audio and video material in order to examine the performance. Before sending, please review the application form.
6. Selection method
Until December 17, 2007, the participants will be informed about the results by e-mail, telephone, mail or fax. The contract will be sent by mail and must be returned by mail.
7. Schedule
Public announcement: September 7, 2007
Start of application period: September 7, 2007
Closure of application period: November 11, 2007
Announcement of results: December 17, 2007
